From 01/05/2017 to 31/07/2019 Bacteromic sp. z o.o. was involved in realization of the project “BacterOMIC – development of systems for comprehensive information on antibiotic susceptibility of bacteria” in cooperation with the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The project was co-financed under the Smart Growth Operational Programme Measure 4.4. (TEAM-TECH programme).
Research conducted within BacterOMIC project focused on antimicrobial resistance of bacteria. The aim of the project was to develop an automated diagnostic system which, taking the advantage of a microfluidic technologies, would provide the most comprehensive information about susceptibility of a microorganism to a wide portfolio of antibiotics and their combinations. Another part of the project concerned high-throughput microfluidic screening system for searching a new combination of the antimicrobials. The total value of the project was 4 086 513,00 PLN of which 3 696 201,00 PLN was a public subsidy for both Bacteromic and the Institute of Physical Chemistry.
